This 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we honor the visionary women in biotechnology and science who reshaped our world despite systemic barriers.
-𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘀 – Identified X and Y chromosomes, proving DNA determines sex, yet was overshadowed.
-𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗹𝗶𝗻 – Pioneered X-ray crystallography, revealing DNA’s double-helix, but was denied recognition.
-𝗚𝗲𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗶 – First woman to win a Nobel in Medicine for revolutionizing metabolic research.
-𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗠𝗰𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 – Discovered “jumping genes,” earning a solo Nobel decades later.
-𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴 – Advanced bacterial genetics, yet her husband alone won the Nobel.
